How Are Ratings Determined in EdReports Pre-K Reviews

Our educator reviewers rate each individual indicator, or specific element of quality, based on evidence in the materials.

Those indicator ratings are then used to determine criteria and gateway ratings using a rule-based approach.

This approach is designed to reflect patterns across the materials, so one especially strong or weak area does not shape the overall result.

Within each report, you can hover over gateway and criteria ratings to view an explanation of how the rules work. For full details, see the review criteria.

Half or more of the criteria or indicators are rated Meets Expectations.

None of the criteria or indicators are rated Do Not Meet Expectations.
